T-minus 2 hours!

It's 4:11a Sunday morning & 30 years today, The Center for Disease Control, documented and announced to the world about AIDS. In a couple hours my brother & I, along with 2499 other riders & over 700 roadies will leave San Francisco on our bicycles on a journey towards Los Angeles in AIDS LifeCycle's 10 year anniversary.

I wanted to take this moment and THANK EACH one of you for being an Important part of this journey with me. Your donations and support have been so critical to the success of my training and eventual arrival here. Thank You!

I'll keep you all posted via this blog as well as Twitter and Facebook.

Thanks Again!

Many Blessings!

For @AIDSLifeCycle, for Those Who Have Gone Before Us.

I was scanning my recent Facebook timeline and saw this on my brother's posts. It really got me thinking about what I will be getting into along with 2499 other Riders and over 700 Roadies in a couple day's time.

"What are we here for, if not to help one another? Surely, we didn't come all this way to be comfortable. We didn't travel across so much time and space to impress our neighbors with our fancy cars. And we're certainly not here to sit on the sidelines and watch the world go by...So what are we here for, if not to help one another?" --Ron Atchison

545 miles over 7 days... why would someone in their right mind go through that? Mentally, physically, emotionally, maybe even spiritually? It's a daunting task set before us. It's a task that is worth the pain, sweat, and tears because we have been effected by incredible people like you. People who like us, will face adversity to LIVE for something greater then ourselves. This Cause/Fight for which we ride may outlive some of us, but for the next week, we will fight, we will survive, we will LIVE for each other and do what it takes to bring remembrance and awareness for this who have gone before us and lost their fight against HIV/AIDS.

I hope and pray for safety for EVERYONE who will be out of the Road from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I pray that history will remember us not for any wrongs we have done in the past, but it remembers us for the Good we do these next few Days!

Many Blessings to you all,

Thank You for ALL of the Love and Support!

13 Days Away!

It's been 5 months since I started training for this year's AIDS/LifeCycle 10.  In that time I rode approximately  660 miles (average milage between my Garmin & RunKeeper App) to train my body and mind.

On June 5, 2500 Riders and 700 Roadies will leave the cool, fog covered streets of Daly City, near San Francisco and embark on a 545 mile7 day journey.  This will mark the30th Anniversary of the first documented case of HIV by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). 30 years later and we are still fighting.

18 years ago the California AIDS Ride started and 10 years ago it became AIDS/LifeCycle. In the last 18 years the Ride has brought people together from ALL walks of life to raise awareness and funds to help the FIGHT against HIV/AIDS.

Today I want to express my deepest, heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have sacrificed your time and money in supporting me on my small part of this fight. Together we made a difference in the lives of the people who rely on the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center for their services. On behalf of the LAGLC, Thank You!

You can still donate, there's still time, I know the LAGLC would greatly appreciate the additional support.
